ENHANCING MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT INTERVENTIONS FOR WHISTLEBLOWERS IN SOUTH AFRICA
The purpose of the brief is to explore approaches to enhance MHPSS interventions for whistleblowers, highlight the gaps in MHPSS service provision and ensure whistleblower MHPSS is aligned with best practices and ethical standards for mitigating traumatization and promoting mental health and wellbeing. It further aims to advocate for mental health and psychosocial support services which align with the diverse needs of whistleblowers. The target population of this practice brief is primarily mental health practitioners, legal and protection services, whistleblowers and their support structures; with extended recommendations for government (state-based) institutions, and other stakeholders invested in strengthening whistleblower protection and support services.
